HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF "ECONOMICS"

Sustainable development of the national economy, the growth of production in its industries, increasing the international competitiveness of the country largely depends on the personnel trained in economics. The departments of economics established at the institute play an important role in educating them as mature specialists. The history and development of these departments dates back to the second half of the 20th century.

On September 1, 1978, the Department of Political Economy was established at the Bukhara Institute of Food and Light Industry. Under the leadership of the head of the department, associate professor SI Bobojonov, 7 qualified specialists were engaged in scientific training and public works. By September 1, 1980, the team expanded to 9 people, and the department operated until 1997.

Also, Z.M.Abdullaeva, O.M.Khamrokulov, N.Kh.Alimov, B.F.Azimov., D.I.Rozieva headed the department in different years.

According to the order of the rector of the Bukhara Institute of Engineering and Technology dated September 15, 2021 № 499-U, the department of "Economics" was separated from the department of "Management" and from October 7, 2021 to the present time department has been working under the head of  the candidate of economic sciences, associate professor Akmal Chorievich Boboyev. 

The department of "Economics" is located on the 3rd floor of the 2nd building of the institute. The department has a total of 15 teachers, including: 5 candidates of economic sciences, associate professors, 7 senior teachers, 1 assistant, 2 trainee teachers, 1 external assistant.

Leading teachers of the department: Sh.B.Ochilov, B.F.Azimov, G.D.Khasanova, A.Ch.Boboyev conducted research and defended their dissertations in different years. The scientific potential of the department is 50%. Currently, a number of teachers are conducting research on scientific topics to further increase the scientific potential. 

Teachers of the department "Economics" annually prepare electronic textbooks, monographs and manuals for higher education. In particular, in recent years, Associate Professor A.Ch. Boboev "Economic Geography and Ecology"; "Tax system and private entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan" by associate professor Sh.N.Khayitov, associate professor A.Ch.Boboyev, senior teachers S.N.Yuldasheva and B.T.Mukhsinov; “Development of innovative entrepreneurship in higher education institutions” by prof. A.B. Nizamov and senior teacher SH Rakhmatov; Senior teachers N.N. Rasulova and Z.Q. Jumaeva published textbooks on "Economics and Management of the industry.". Teachers of the department have copyright for a number of electronic textbooks, such as “Innovative Entrepreneurship”, “Economic Geography and Ecology”, “Sectoral Economics and Management”, “Economic Theory”, “Small Business and Entrepreneurship”, “Enterprise Economics”, “Tax System and Private Entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan”. 

Teachers of the department "Economics" under the leadership of the head of the department, associate professor A.Ch. Boboev carry out a number of scientific and methodological work. In particular, in recent years, "Theoretical development of entrepreneurship"; "Strategy of educational and methodical training in the development of innovative activities of teachers of vocational education in the education system"; "The formation of entrepreneurial skills in graduates and their prospects" by Associate Professor A.Ch. Boboev; “Improvement of mechanisms for the development of services in the context of innovation processes (on the example of Bukhara region)”, “Experience in the management of higher education system of developed foreign countries” by associate professor. G.D. Hasanova,  "Regional aspects of the development of industry in the regions of Uzbekistan" by N.N. Rasulova and Z.Q. Jumaeva.

Members of the department are active participants in the annual national and international scientific conferences, they prepare and publish articles in prestigious national and international scientific publications. In particular, more than 20 scientific articles of teachers of the department were published in the prestigious international and local journals indexed in the Web of Science, Scopus database, listed in the HAC.

Teachers of the department are working on a state grant for the project "Training of qualified engineers in technical areas and improving the quality of teacher training on the basis of person-centered innovative technologies."

About 200 students study full-time, part-time and part-time and secondary specialties at the Department of Economics, including 63310100-Bachelor of Economics (by industry and branch) being prepared. Talented students, led by teachers of the department, regularly participate in science Olympiads, prestigious competitions.

	Thanks were expressed to Boboye Akmal Choriyevich, Head of the Department of Economics, for his active participation in the high-level elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on October 24, 2021.
	For worthy participation in the events held in the mahallas of the district to promote the content and significance of the ongoing reforms in the country under the motto "NEW UZBEKISTAN - A NEW LOOK" Member of Bukhara Institute of Engineering and Technology Boboye Akmal Choriyevich, Associate Professor of Management
	Thanks to Hasanova Gulrukh Djumanajarovna for a worthy participation as a trainer in the political trainings organized throughout the Republic of Uzbekistan on "Improving the political knowledge and legal culture of youth."
	In the 2020-2021 academic year, a talented student Yusupov Yusuf under the guidance of Associate Professor GD Hasanova was awarded the "State Scholarship named after Islam Karimov."

The department is an active participant in political readings and advocacy, organized by the regional and city authorities, spiritual and educational activities organized by the institute. Teachers and staff of the Department of "Economics" in cooperation with the dean's office organize cultural and educational evenings, round tables, events in the dormitory of the Institute. Teachers of the department are regular participants of sports events at the institute, city and regional level, and win prizes in volleyball and chess.
